My Review
With Myprotein's Pulse V4 I used it for about two weeks. I stuck to the recommended limits for "Intermediate Users" which was 8.5g. When I first started using it I would get very pumped, I felt that I was able to lift more in terms of weight but also reps which was great. It took 25 mins for it to kick in which is perfect since I would have it before heading out to train. By the time I was done warming up I would then start feeling the pump kick in. Whilst on Myprotein's Pulse V4 I found that both my endurance and stamina were much improved. Afterwards there wasn't that crash you experience with other pre-workouts which was a great bonus!
One thing I didn't like was the taste. I used the "Berry Blast" flavour and it didn't taste much like berries, felt it was very artificial.
I would recommend having a week break after every two weeks to stop your body from getting used to it, that way, you would continue to get these effects for a longer period.
Overall though I found it to be a great pre-workout which does the job. It's fairly cheap and a 500g pouch would last you a while.
The above is really useful, thanks. However, I’ve only just started taking Pulse V4 and I’ve not really got that buzz. For the past year I’ve been taking No Xplode and I definately got a bit of a buzz from that and noticed improvements in my workouts. Mainly because of the price I thought it was time to try something else and so I’ve started with Pulse V4… But it hasn’t really had the same effect. I take 6 scoops with 300ml of water on my way to the gym, which ends up being 30mins by the time I start my workout. Any suggestions?
Hey Jay,
What’s your caffeine tolerance like?
NoXplode and Pulse V4 work in two very different ways. The first makes your blood vessels bigger so more blood can flow the muscles which are working where as V4 works as a stimulant. If you’re drinking a lot of coffee/tea throughout the day you may become tolerant to it which is why you would need to take a slightly bigger dose than recommended, we don’t advise you exceed the suggested maximum dose, which by the looks of things you may be doing.
