My Review
This product is interesting. It is a powerful pre-workout supplement which seems to be effective. Effectiveness seems to increase with sound nutrition, rest and reduction of stress. I have heard from people who took 2 scoops of the product (recommended 1-2 scoops on package) and they faced heart palpitations, elevated HR hours after workout, and felt very sick and ‘edgy’. To avoid this from happening, I recommend consuming some sort of macronutrient (banana, Orange, whey protein, etc) prior to ingestion of PowderBurn. This will allow for more controlled absorption. Also, I would recommend only 1 scoop of this product prior to your workout (instead of 2). Most companies base serving sizes on larger males who may indeed require 2 scoops (due to body mass). I believe that is not accurate and marginalizes others who buy the product for results.
Results were interesting as well. When I used PowderBurn (1 scoop + 750ml water, ice) 30 minutes prior to my workout I felt both focused and ready for lifting. I did not do cardiovascular exercise while taking PowderBurn. In my resistance training with a HR monitor I noticed my HR ranged between 106bpm and 157bpm (my HR max should be around 196bpm) when measured between sets. I worked the larger muscle groups such as my back and leg muscles with heavy weight. My rep range was between 8-12 and I completed 3 sets of each exercise.
Overall, as a personal trainer, I would be very careful before trying this pre workout supplement. I would consult with your doctor before starting any new exercise routine or pre-workout supplements such as PowderBurn. Do your personal homework first before taking supplements. Sometimes coffee can do just as well.
